How good is the health care?
There are over 75 doctors with offices on the Shore, including a number of specialists. The care tends to be individual, and it’s likely that no matter where you live, somewhere nearby you will have a doctor as your neighbor. I don’t personally know many doctors, but my own has medical degrees from Duke and Johns Hopkins.
 The Eastern Shore Hospital, Shore Memorial, is located in the middle of the Shore, in Nassawadox. It provides 24 hour care and a full time emergency room, along with a cancer center. In addition, Shore Memorial offers Lifecare, Rehab, Healthcare at home, and Cardiopulmonary Wellness Service.
Norfolk, approximately 30 minutes from the Cape Charles area, has a number of excellent hospitals staffed by specialists in almost every conceivable area. And Salisbury and Norfolk both have trauma centers. Additionally, there are a number of clinics and health care centers up and down the Shore.
